Dickinson County Bike Path Committee meeting Regular meeting of the Bike Path committee is Tuesday, July 15 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Dickinson County Library , 401 Iron Mountain Street, in downtown Iron Mountain. They are working on a county-wide bike path system that will include Norway. The public is always welcome and encouraged to join or participate in this community effort.

Pioneer Days Businesses participating in this celebration include: Thirsty Whale's 30th anniversary— specials all day located west of downtown on Hwy 2; The Ink Station located next door to Thirsty Whale on Hwy 2—scrap booking supplies and preserving treasured old family photos and keepsakes; The Garden Place—store-wide sale, antique display, food sampling, balloons, farmer's market and more; Jake Menghini Historical Museum also on Hwy 2, is open 10am to 4 pm on Saturday, and 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday—special displays and a geneology how-to handout. Vulcan Mine map and other mining memorabilia on special display; Norway Deli, on the north end of Main Street, is offering 25¢ ice cream on the 19th; and Kingsley North, located at 910 Brown Street is celebrating with a great summer sale of beads, crystals, Czech glass beads and various supplies for jewelry making. 9 am to noon on Saturday. Also, always open is the Norway Spring with great, free water for drinking and the Norway Myr—great boardwalk hiking in the fresh water marsh—both on Hwy 2. Other stores participating are on Main Street in Norway north and south of the light. Have fun!

Favorite Son of Norway Recognized John "Jack" Ralston, Norway graduate and former football coach at Stanford University and Denver Broncos will be honored as a Favorite Son of Norway in festivities planned for July 26, 2008. Arrangements are being coordinated by the Jake Menghini Museum. Tentative plans include a down town parade and a Banquet/dinner program. Banquet tickets will be available. A special display of Coach Ralston's memorabilia will be the feature attraction at the Museum beginning in May.
