EACH OCTOBER IN DOWNTOWN NORWAY

Leif Erikson Festival

Leif Erikson Day was first celebrated in the City of Norway, Michigan, on October 10, 1992. On that day, Robert and Barbara Thorne began the tradition of celebrating the explorer's spirit of discovery and adventure at their Scandinavian gift shop, the Swedish Passport.

You can expect traditional Leif Erikson Day events, such as Viking re-enactments, as well as art shows, live music, hayrides, food vendors. Leif's Run offers a 10K, 5K and 2-mile fun run.
