Forslund Building Supply is Norway's largest provider of building materials, local contracting services, design consulting, tools, appliances, and more for renovation, building, or upkeep projects.

Forslund is a third-generation, family-owned business founded in 1950. The company serves Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin residents with three store locations in Ironwood, Caspian, and Norway, Michigan. In 2020, Forslund purchased Lofholm’s Lumber, a company that had been operating in Norway for over 60 years. Many former Lofholm employees continued working at Forslund, helping to maintain a tradition of community-focused service shared by both companies.

Forslund operates under the Indiana-based Do It Better lumber and building materials buying cooperative, which supplies most of the products available in the store. With its wide variety and expansive store, Forslund serves as an excellent alternative to big-box competitors, offering a comprehensive range of lumber, plumbing, electrical, window, paint, and hardware products.

Forslund’s Norway store is laid out according to your project needs, whether you are working on a kitchen and bath remodel, building a new deck, or need assistance with everything from concrete to insulation, to a new refrigerator or washer dryer set.

If you need a quick bite on the go or a lunch break, Norway's local Subway restaurant is directly attached to Forslund's showroom, with sit-down dining and pick-up service available every day from 9 AM to 10 PM.

Mark McCarthy stepped in as the Forslund store manager in Norway following the Lofholm's purchase. He has deep connections in the area. When asked about business in Norway, McCarthy emphasized the benefits of operating in such a close-knit community: "I've traveled all over the country and throughout the U.P., but I was drawn back here. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else."
